Windows 7 Professional is easier to use, more reliable, more secure and faster than Windows XP. Windows XP is nearly a decade old, with limited support for new hardware and software. On the other hand, Windows 7 Professional has been specifically designed to meet the growing demands of modern technology users with more sophisticated networking, mobility, entertainment, data protection, and compatibility features. And with Windows XP Mode, you get the compatibility of Windows XP in Windows 7 Professional! Be aware though, to use XP Mode you need the right processor!

Below is a 6 step method to creating a strong, good quality, easy to remember password! Our method is easy to remember, just think the ‘S and 5 C’s’ method!

Sentence – Think of a personal sentence of phrase that you find really easy to remember, e.g. I have three pet rabbits and two budgerigars. This is known as a pass phrase.

Compatibility – Some systems, whether it be on the computer or online, may not allow spaces in your password. If the system you’re using does allow for spaces use the pass phrase from step one and move to step 4. If not then move to step3.

Conversion – If the system doesn’t allow for spaces convert the phrase. For example, take all the first letters from your pass phrase to make a word, e.g. ‘I have three pet rabbits and two budgerigars’ changes to ‘ihtpratb’.

Complicate things – Make the password harder to guess by varying between upper and lower case letters and throw in the odd number too. For example, your pass phrase could change from this ‘I have three pet rabbits and two budgerigars’ to ‘I hAvE 3 pEt RaBbItS aNd 2 BuDgErIgArS’ or your converted pass phrase could change from this ‘ihtpratb’ to ‘Ih3PrA2b’.

Characters – Now try to replace any words, letters or numbers with symbols and alternative characters. For example, your pass phrase could start as ‘I hAvE 3 pEt RaBbItS aNd 2 BuDgErIgArS’ and change to ‘! h@v£ 3 p£t R@BbIt$ & 2 BuDgEr!g@r$’ or your converted pass phrase could start as ‘Ih3PrA2b’ and change to ‘!h3Pr&2b’.

Check – Finally, check the strength of your password using the Windows Password Checker. The stronger the better!

Time to answer some questions that are frequently asked about Microsoft Office 2007:

Q: Is it possible to open Office 2007 documents in different versions of Office?
A: Yes, there is a free Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel and PowerPoint 2007 file formats which enable other users to view, save edit etc documents in Office 200, XP or 2003. For more on how to install the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack click here and for more information on how to use earlier versions of Excel, PowerPoint and Word to open and save files from 2007 Office click here.

Q: Can I save my documents in older Microsoft Office formats?
A: Yes you can. Simply click the office button on the top left and choose Save as, then just pick the earlier version of your 2007 Office system application e.g. Excel 97-2003. You can lose some information by doing this though. So to check if anything, what will get lost, select Prepare–>Run Compatibility Checker.

Q: How do I check if I have any problems in my Office 2007 system?
A: Office 2007 comes with its very own built-in diagnostics tool, which you’ll find by following these simple instructions: Start–>All Programs–>Microsoft Office–>Microsoft Office Tools–>Microsoft Office Diagnostics. Then just follow the on screen instructions which will give Office a check to make sure everything is running healthily.

Q: How can I change a program’s options?
A: You can change with all of the 2007 Office system applications by selecting the Office button from the top left hand corner of the screen when the program is open. Then just select the Options you wish to change from the button at the bottom of the window. Spending the time to go over the sections carefully is recommended as it will save you a hell of a lot of time and effort in the long run.

Q: Is it possible to back up my Office 2007 system settings?
A: Windows Vista includes the Microsoft Office system settings with in the back-up tools. If you wish to transfer them to a PC instead you can use ‘Windows Easy Transfer’. You can find both by doing the following: Start–>All Programs–>Accessories–>System Tools.

Anymore post ‘em ‘ere and we will see what can be done.
