Hello, you have reached the site of GlobalHotelMS. Grahams Final Year University project. If you are here then I guess you are here to test it out! Below I have Explained a little about each section and provided links.
Can I please take this opportunity to ask you to not use your real name and address when testing the system out. This is because that when people are testing the staff and management areas they will be able to view this information. Instead make up a plausible address e.g. John Smith, Flat 1, The Road, Kent etc. Or use famous peoples names or cartoon characters!
If you have time I would really appreciate responses from testers via the feedback form here. Whether it is informing me of a problem or just general comments/suggestions on the system it would be much appreciated. Thanks
Anyway, onto the project. There are five areas that will require testing by as many people as possible.
Newly Added: For those that can access the hcmanagement area I have included access to the new CMS module!
Guest Reservation Area
This area is public, anyone browsing the web can access this part and they can view information about the hotel as well as going through the process of making a reservation.
I should note that there are limited numbers of hotels and rooms so if you try to make a reservation and are unable to find a room that meets your requirements then please change them to proceed with the process.
As this is a project your reservation will not be honored neither will payment be taken. In fact the test system by-passes the future payment modules to put peoples minds at rest.

Customer Account Area
This area is for guests that have already made a reservation and have specified a password.
The email address given during the reservation process and the password given at the same time will allow you to login here.
If you didn't take any notice of the email and password you gave then make another reservation and take note! Then you will be able to view and test this area. Link ...
Staff Portal
This is the area that members of staff would use in the hotel as guests arrive and depart or contact the hotel via telephone. It will allow bookings to be made, edited, cancelled. Guests can be checked in and out. Extras can be added to a guests bill and much much more.
In reality this area would be under a secure SSL connection, however due to the cost restraints of the project this is not the case. Although you will still need to log in. The following login details can be used.
If you wish to log in as a member of staff at The Bellagio:
Username: bellagio
Password: tester
If you wish to log in as a member of staff at The Mirage:
Username: mirage
Password: tester
If you wish to log in as a member of staff at Crossways Hotel:
Username: crossways
Password: tester

Hotel Management Portal
The management team have access to the staff portal as well so features are not replicated here from the staff portal. This area allows the management team of the hotel to Create/Remove Staff users as necessary, View Reports, Add/Edit Rooms.
If testing this area can I please ask that you do not delete any of the current information. If you wish to test it all out please create a new record of the feature you are testing and edit / delete that. Thank You. Limited Access. Link...
Hotel Chain Management Portal
This area is very similar to the above Management Portal but it allows control over extra things such as Room Types and Room Grades. It will also allow reports to be viewed from any hotel within the chain, whereas the above portal can only view information regarding its own hotel . Limited Access. Link...
